Client Shifts is focused entirely on developing skill in facilitating real, meaningful change in others. It is not about stage hypnosis or performance-based hypnosis. Instead, the program is designed to help practitioners become more effective at changework, using hypnosis and related techniques in a practical and adaptable way.

Over the first six months, the program will feature three core sessions per month:

1. Tools & Techniques Session – Teaching specific changework tools such as Head, Heart, and Gut, Visual Squash, Future Sourcing, Felt Sense, Submodalities, and various resourcing and state-shifting techniques.
2. Principles Session – Exploring key concepts such as expectancy, cognitive biases, hypnotic language patterns, and how people stabilize or change their reality.
3. Q&A/Open Frame Session – A highly interactive space for participants to ask questions, get coached, and engage in discussion based on their individual needs.

Learning in this program is not rigidly pre-planned but will adapt based on participant engagement and evolving needs. The goal is to create an interactive, co-creative learning environment where students can actively shape their own development.

The focus is on practical, applied changework rather than theoretical learning. Participants are encouraged to engage, practice, and bring questions to the live sessions and the community space for deeper exploration.

For those specifically interested in stage hypnosis or hypnotic phenomena, this is not the right program, but other resources may be available separately.

Below are the prospective dates for the live session. Each session is scheduled to happen currently at 6pm UK time, which should translate to 1pm East Coast US and 10am West Coast.

Should you be unable to make the live sessions, replays will be available in the main hub.

The Hypnosis Without Trance Online Deep Apprenticeship (HWT ODA) was a subscription-based program that ran for two years, focusing on the Hypnosis Without Trance approach to hypnotic facilitation. It explored hypnosis skills initially from the perspective of directly eliciting performance-style hypnotic phenomena (hand sticks, foot sticks, name amnesias etc.), then later getting into changework material, but in somewhat chaotic fashion! 😮

Client Shifts Academy differs from the ODA in three key ways:

1. Focus on Changework Over Hypnosis – Unlike the ODA, which was centered on hypnosis and hypnotic phenomena, Client Shifts Academy is primarily centred in changework tools and principles. While hypnosis sensibilities and even explicit techniques are very much threaded through the teaching, the approach is ultimately applicable across a range of contexts (coaching, therapy, and general conversational changework), not just hypnosis. That said, Hypnotism Basics course is being included in the materials for those who want a structured introduction to hypnosis for change.

2. Collaboration & Higher Production Values – This program is co-run by Ruckus and James, allowing for better organization, higher production values, and a more structured learning experience. The Online Deep Apprenticeship was a solo project, which limited its scope and structure.

3. Increased Live Interaction & Practice – Client Shifts Academy is designed to be highly interactive, offering:

   • More live engagement (Q&A, coaching, and practice sessions, Client Shifts Connect).
   • Extensive practice opportunities - connections facilitated with other participants.
   • Personalized coaching & feedback (including review of recorded sessions for those who opt in to offered opportunities).

Additionally, certification will be introduced (this will be beyond the initial 6 months) for those who have worked through the program when it is fully complete —something never included in the Online Deep Apprenticeship.

In summary this program is more structured, interactive, community-driven, and changework centred making it a significant evolution from the Online Deep Apprenticeship.

Client Shifts Academy and The Nexus are completely different programs with distinct purposes:

1. Focus & Content – The Nexus is a self-development program, centered on personal growth and nonlinear creation dynamics. It does not teach changework, hypnosis, coaching, or facilitation skills. In contrast, Client Shifts Academy is entirely focused on changework skills—helping others create meaningful shifts in their lives.

2. Structure & Engagement – The Nexus offers one informal monthly Q&A call with access to a self-development resource library. In contrast, Client Shifts Academy provides three structured monthly sessions (Tools/Techniques, Principles, and Q&A), plus opportunities for live interaction, practice, and coaching feedback.

3. Delivery & Organization – Client Shifts Academy is a highly structured program, co-led by James and Ruckus, ensuring higher production quality, deeper engagement, and a long-term learning arc. The Nexus is more informal, with replays uploaded at a later time.

In short, The Nexus is purely about self-development, while Client Shifts Academy is offering comprehensive training in changework skills. If you're looking to develop skills in hypnosis, coaching, or facilitating change in others, Client Shifts is the right program.
